Binghamton University is served by a main data center located in the campus Computer Center Building which houses various university functions. Popli Design Group (PDG) was tasked with providing architectural services to support renovations to redesign the layout in order to meet current equipment needs and address major security issues. The building also had more asbestos in it than any other State University owned facility, and needed to remain operating while being abated and renovated. I developed several design concepts and a successful staging plan for a revised layout which would accommodate ADA requirements stemming from removing the existing raised floor from areas that no longer required them, as well as complex security access requirements which differed from room to room. I served as the project manager, lead designer, and client liason for this renovation.
