This competition entry for the BLANKSPACE-OUTERSPACE design contest was submitted as a proposal to the future.

A future in which humans, computations and nature have ceased to be distinct. An era where humankind has first begun to touch the stars and make their first homes away from home. Our proposal was to illustrate the various forms that Martian life might take and make in 2250, defining a nascent era of space exploration and colonization, the time after the first human is born on mars, before the millionth person calls that red world home, during the construction of the first generation ships to truly take us elsewhere and touch the stars of distant worlds.
